i ran into a bunch of links about this documentary on blogging that chuck olsen is working on. you can watch the trailer here, and you see a few blogging superstars in there, including haughey and kottke as well as seth from thinkabout.org, who, if you look around enough, has got a little something to say on nietzsche, fox news, and npr. i know i never got around to talking about nietzsche back here, but once you can begin to grasp the ideas and the inimitable sacrifice to complete atheism (as opposed to kierkegaard’s complete christianity), you start to realize what a devoted and brilliant philosopher he is. but anyways, nevermind.

so yeah, the blog movie had a precursor, something done by pbs, which i haven’t actually had a chance to look at much, but i do see that glenn reynolds does make an appearance. they have a
clip of it over at the site.

also, the “blogumentary,” a term i’m a bit uncomfortable with, is also an ambitious piece of “open source documentary,” and they are asking for donations and trying to put it all out for free. check out the site at blogumentary.org.

addendum: for those that are hitting this thanks to the link from thinkabout.org, i have to be honest, i didn’t actually mean to mention seth as a “superstar” on the level of kottke and haughey, (but that’s what i get for not proofreading) and i only heard of the page because of the blogumentary (though that shouldn’t stop you from following the link over there– it’s still a good read). if that doc gets any more distribution though, i will rescind my rescinding of “superstar,” because, you know, i have the control over these kinds of things, labels and shit. in any case, it’s bringing us all some traffic, isn’t it?

it’s a serious test, like the SATs. which ones don’t belong?

caught up on all the episodes for 24 last night, and tonight is the series finale. next season is already a go, and jack bauer is still a badass. really, though, that show is spectacular, and this season may very well be better than last season’s, mostly because there’s arguably less fluff in the storyline than last year.

this is my 500th post in sounds from a heart murmur(tm) according to movabletype, though many of those were made with blogger, and it’s probably more than that, since i haven’t actually converted all my blogger posts to MT. to commemorate this occasion, i was going to refuse to check my spelling, but it turns out, i’m incapable of doing so if i’m not sure if i’ve spelled something wrong. typos, on the other hand, are abundant, and therefore not unique enough to represent some sort of celebration. instead, i’ve decided to nullify any such sort of celebration by debunking the fact that this 500th post means anything by linking my very first, very dumb post: ahem. nevermind. i’m not going to do that either, mainly because i just read it and it is too stupid to be rehash.

whew! turns out, i don’t need to do anything to nullify this non-occasion, since my rambling has probably caused you not to care anyway! hooray!

i could’ve sworn i posted something on thursday, but now that i think about it, i couldn’t have, because it was an insanely hectic day– what with all the matrix hub-bub and spending 2 hours in traffic trying to get to mann village and catch the 715. and on friday, i spent a good portion of the day in my car as well trying to navigate the streets and to find the hollywood and vine econo lodge, which was suprisingly no where near hollywood and vine, more like melrose and vine, almost a dozen blocks south of hollywood blvd.

anyways, i went to matrix, i’ll try and do some reviewing soon, though when do i ever do something that i say i’ll do? not often, i tell you what. like taking pictures at e3? not likely.

i did, however, go to e3 and i saw a good deal of nerds with bad hair cuts and scantily clad women whom the nerds unashamedly ogled. it was kind of pathetic, really. i played some games, most of which sucked, though the new cel-shaded teenage mutant ninja turtles game for the gamecube is pretty fun. also in the mix were a couple of midway sports games which bit a fat one, and some capcom game that i couldn’t frickin’ figure out how to play. saw the trailer for doom 3, the standee for tony hawk’s thugs, and rainbow six 3, which all looked prettty cool, though i still have no real idea what thugs is all about. overall, it was okay, though i got kind of bored wandering around there by myself. oh yeah, i got a free frisbee, too.

friday night jason and vasili came out with us and we had some damn expensive italian food on hermosa pier and played some minature golf. i got bored 15 holes in.

will catch up on 24 tonight, in preparation for tomorrow’s season finale. got a lot of watching to do.

now, this could very well be proof that ferrets are evil, though judging my james’ instinctive bonding with ferrets, i’d have to present that as a case against their evilocity.

speaking of evil, remember how some dude digitized that film where that star wars kid got caught doin’ all that jedi fightin’? yeah, well, jish.nu and a few others felt some empathy, and turns out the kid is pretty cool and is getting some swag out of the deal. good stuff.

back to work! (whip-lashing commences).
