you are not my typewriter

there’s a new series by the state kids that may soon be showing up on comedy central some time soon. was reading through the site today (if you haven’t been there before, certainly go now, it archives the majority of the state skits as well as a bunch of stuff from stella and other state-related entertainment as well as non-state-related things like the upright citizens brigade).

another thing i found there is that stella, the comedya show that david wain, michael showalter, and michael ian black do at fez in new york is releasing a dvd, which is available at teenangst.com. i plan on getting it sometime soon. while i’m on the subject, i hadn’t realized that david wain did some writing for the daily show.

i left work today, very early, came home and got knocked out on the couch for a few hours. it’s opening day for a lot of teams today, though not the mariners. my fantasy baseball team is playing right now, and getting their ass kicked very well. very, very well– i’m in last. good news, though, the mariners are going to be on tv down here and everywhere, on espn2. like you care, right?

in the coming out soon on dvd department: toonzone reports fox has release dates and you can pre-order futurama season 2, the family guy, and (ahem) king of the hill. yeah, i don’t like king of the hill, either. beavis and butthead on the other hand….

okay, a few things– I saw “wet hot american summer” by the state guys for the first time on friday. pretty funny stuff.
wait, you don’t like king of the hill (I agree, I don’t see the appeal, really) but you like family guy?! that shit is really bad, at least the ones I made attempts to watch. wanted to be funny in the off-the-wall simpsons way, but trying way too hard and way too slapstick.
bought the first season of futurama saturday, and once again say that it has been definitively underappreciated for years. and the commentaries rock!
the internet has been sporadic all day today here. shite suck shit.

I have to defend the family guy here. That is some funny stuff. At first, I was not a big fan, but as I watched it more and more it got cleverer and cleverer (if cleverer is not a word, it should be).

i thought the same thing about family guy when i first saw it, and never really got through episodes without some effort. i have, recently, though, caught snippets and found some really funny stuff in there. i think they’re less simpsons and more south park, though. there’s a good deal of pretty wrong stuff in the writing.
