ugly or pretty, it’s still my city

i left seattle for what seemed like the final time two days ago. it was raining when i left; it was cold and it was raining.

the drive was longer than usual down to the stretch of i-5 because we were driving a uhaul. i felt like a truck driver in that huge truck, towing my brother’s car. it was almost as if we were somehow granted a peak into the world of truck driving - the whole light flashing deal when we were clear to get back into the right lane was a taste of the life.

i almost want to be a truck driver.

all i would need would be the auto-drive, and it’s maximum homerdrive time.

kind of like spitting : bridges worth burning

i’ve listened to this 3 times in a row now, not so much because i think it’s great, but moreso because it’s too dark in here to find another cd. the music’s fine, there’s a lot larger expanse as far as lyrical content, but here’s the still the same exact expression as in previous albums. ben gibbard guests as drummer, showing his metronome solidity.
