This is a test.

A test of the emergency posting system. It’s only a test. I’m checking to see if e-mail posting works on this version of Wordpress. I hope it does. [Update: It doesn't.]

We saw Wedding Crashers on Saturday night; that montage at the beginning is terribly gratuitous. In fact, now that I think about it, the entire film was pretty gratuitous. Nonetheless, it was funny, mostly due to Vince Vaughn’s innate ability to rant like a lunatic. Owen Wilson spoke like Dignan, as well.

We rode about 26 miles yesterday. Fun stuff.

Dear Internet,

If anyone knows why my search box is located outside of the main area, please advise, as I have no time to monkey about with such things.

All my heartfelt gratitude,
Tim

nada surf : the weight is a gift

Can someone please tell me how Walla gets so much crisp attack on the snare on this song? It actually sounds a lot like the setup on “Why you’d want to live here”, but damn if that cymbal isn’t shimmering.

Listen to an song off of Nada Surf’s upcoming album, The Weight is a Gift: Do it again.

2005 Crack O’ Dawn 5K, BRL, and moving really slowly

Wednesday, July 13th, 2005

My only compalint about Wordpress is the whole Title/Post Slug thing that it has going on that doesn’t allow people to post comments to posts with no title. In any case, I’d post much more often if things like thinking of a nice and logical title to a post (or non-appropriate song titles), but my obsession and often-times failure to classify and categorize well get in the way.

If you’ll look at the following link, that brl has so lovingly provided, you’ll see that Ali and I moved slowly across the 5K finish line during Josh and Randa’s wedding: 2005 Crack O’ Dawn 5K. We actually did run though, guys, so don’t go crapping on my pride.

Provided we get around to registering for it soon, we will try our hand at cycling this September, for the Livestrong Ride in Portland. It’s in your neighborhood, guys (Jonas, brl). Care to join? I think we’re doing the 40 mile.

Firefox and Wordpress

Wednesday, July 13th, 2005

Is my new favorite browser. I’ve been using it a lot at work on a PC, and have now just re-installed the new version on my Mac at home. It’s got all the same functionality that I enjoyed when using Saft with Safari, without any of the annoying “Buy Me” pop-ups (since Saft is shareware), but is completely free.

The extensions are particularly useful and endless (Yes! Mouse gestures!); it reminds me a lot of Wordpress, which I’m also enjoying because of its relative ease-of-use and its ever expanding and robust system of plugins, themes, etc.

Anyways, as a by-product of both of these things, Wordpress and Firefox, I bring you a crazy and absolutely useless and random link called Rapid afterimage. It’s a visual trick, and no, I didn’t bother to read the explanation.

Get Firefox and Wordpress!

Do you believe in something beautiful?

Get up and be it.

It’s just a commonality to expect lulls such as these here at infiniteregress.org. Last you heard, I took the LSAT, was headed to New York for Josh’s wedding, right? I got my scores back while I was in New York, and they were downright horrible. Not that I’m trying to let it deter me from making an informed and concious decision about whether or not I’m still going to law school, but the jury is still out on that one; bad wordplay unintended. Does anyone know anything about becoming a librarian?

The wedding was mad dance parties, catching lightning bugs, all the beer and wine and lemonade you could drink, sticky-sweaty arms and legs, snoring in cabins, waking up early, long drives on East Coast roads, a little teary eyed, a lot of laughing, and a hell of a good time. People should get married more often.

Back to work, anyway.
